My Philosophy
I regularly pursue new education opportunities, and am honored to work with individuals whose journeys around culture, race, sexual identity, age, and gender identity intersect with their journeys around food, exercise and body image.
According to the Eating Recovery Center (2024), 9% of the United States population, or 28.8 million Americans, will have an eating disorder in their lifetime. As these numbers continue to grow each year and diet culture continues to be deeply embedded in our society, eating disorders are often overlooked, which can feel isolating. It can feel scary to let go of something that is no longer serving you, but you can most definitely do it!
To target the eating disorder, I utilize interventions from Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive and Mindfulness-based practices. I explore values, your relationship with food, encourage self-compassion, and align with Intuitive Eating, Health at Every Size (HAES) and All Foods Fit ideologies. We collaborate on creating a life that is fulfilling to you while embracing food freedom and listening to satiety cues. Whether you are struggling with body image difficulties, disordered eating, and/or a disordered relationship with exercise, I am here to tell you that there is hope in recovery.

Eating Disorder Therapy
According to the International OCD Foundation (2024), OCD affects 1 in 40 adults in their lifetime and 1 in 100 children in their lifetime. Compounding this issue is the alarming rate of misdiagnosis—people with OCD are frequently misunderstood, stigmatized, and overlooked. This pervasive lack of awareness not only perpetuates misconceptions but also hinders access to appropriate support and treatment (NOCD, 2024).
I utilize Inference-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness based interventions to address OCD symptoms. In addition to evidence-based practices, my personal experience with OCD has given me the ability to connect deeply with those suffering from the disorder. I have first hand experience of how recovery and relief are possible and I would be honored to be a part of your journey.

Healing with a Team
Sometimes when it comes to eating and exercise disorders, it can help to work with other practitioners, such as a registered dietician and a medical doctor. I am happy to help you connect with trustworthy providers. I love working as part of a team and will happily collaborate with the people in your life who are important to your wellbeing.
